Good day today: 4 squares and a brainstorm. As I was crocheting these 6 squares together. I decided to recruit some help. So, I sent a message to Mom's dear friend and fellow Raveler, Luvaminx (For this, thanks a million! !!!). She's rounding up the members of the Just Because Greeting Card Group and they are making squares for the bomb. It was only fitting that I made this request because with every card swap, Mom is like a kid at Christmas. I can't wait to see this finished!!!!!

Not so productive today. I only finished 2 squares today. I'm sure the firemen would have rathered me crochet instead of talk to them all day.... lol

Mission Log 5/22/13
I'm sorry I didn't call you sooner, Mom, I was REAL BUSY at work today (with my fingers crossed behind my back).
I decided to do mostly squares attached to horizontal strips. All of which will attach to the beginning oxo strip....crocheted or knitted on one side, button on the other. I'm thinking of a ruffle edging around the top and bottom. This strip is a double moss stitch pattern. Did most of it at work and finished the last 5 inches at home.
Mission Log 5/21/13
A productive day at work. No, I didn't burn anything down (for those who don't know, I dispatch Fire & EMS). I managed to whip out 2 squares and the number 60. Rolling nicely :-D
Mission Log 5/18/13
Bring me some yarn balls and cracker jacks. Seanie needs to pick out his yarn.....Great game, Monkey!
Mission Log 5/17/13
After a few restarts and some alarm activations, I managed to almost finish Zakky's monkey. All of the monkeys are going to hold a strong of beads that spell out the kids names. I didn't bring the beads to work.
Mission Log 4/30/13
Monkeys! This tree needs monkeys. A kid for each monkey and a monkey for each kid. So, tonight's after dinner walk was to Lizzie and Randy's house so Geli and Zakkaroni can pick out the yarn for their monkeys.... STRIKE A POSE!!!!!
Mission Log 4/28/13
On this bright, sunny, but chillier than it looks, and childless Sunday, I scoop up my beloved knitting bag and head off to Liberty State Park. I gave myself a good 3 hours of knitting time before I had to pick up the kids.... only to discover that, not only are all the bathrooms closed, but my favorite bench has not been replaced :-(
It used to be past the old ferry slips, just beyond the fence. And, yes, I did say bright & sunny. It was. But soon as the sunny saw me in the park it got scared and hit behind the clouds..... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Mission Log 4/29/13
Chugging along nicely.... and remembered to leave the house with my cable needle.
This oxo cable is my favorite and it goes really fast, especially on size 15 needles. .... yes, I treated myself to some new
bamboo just for the occasion :-D
Mission Log 4/26/14
So, leave it to me. I pack my handy dandy knitting bag, park in my usual spot outside Anna's school and start working. What did I leave home, yep, my cable needles. Well, remembering back to day 1 of my EMT class and the whole "learn to improvise" speech, I MacGayvered my knitting with a pencil.... go me.
Secret Squirrel Mission Begins....hehehehe
It's not a big tree. It's kinda medium-sized. It is, however, in the buff.... Shame on you, tree! We'll have to fix that. BUT! !!!! It's Mom's birthday present, so don't tell her. Hey, that's what she gets for turning 60 (Old Fart!)... hehehehe This blog is my online scrapbook/mission log. Everything on here (and then some), including well wishes. .. you can leave some here. .. is being printed out and put in a smash journal, already in progress :-D
Without further adieu, I'd like to give a BIG shout out and virtual hugs to the members of the Just Because Greating Card Ravelry Group, whose help I have recruited.... Mom loves them as much as us :-D THANKS, EVERYONE!!!!!! ♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥
